Valentino Rossi posted the second fastest time in Jerez today as
he continued his impressive switch from Michelin to Bridgestone
tyres.
第二天下午,這位山葉廠隊車手第一次使用 Bridgestone 的排位賽軟性胎
取得了 1分40.134秒的佳績。
The factory Yamaha rider clocked a best of 1.40.134 on a soft
Bridgestone qualifying tyre that he tried for the first time this
afternoon.
羅西嘗試了兩種軟質排位後胎,第一款成績1分40.743秒,第二款1分40.134秒,
後者為他這天最好的成績。
他在Jerez最好的成績仍是今年三月使用 Michelin 的排位賽成績,比今天還要
削減掉 0.7秒(1'39.453)。
The Italian tried two soft rear tyres with his first lap a 1.40.743.
On his second qualifier he posted a 1.40.134, which was his best
time on the day.
His best was still 0.7s off his qualifying time set on Michelin
rubber at the Spanish GP last March.
今天最快的男人是西班牙新星Dani Pedrosa,他在Michelin排位胎上
作出最佳成績 1分39.993秒,比今年三月在家鄉Jerez的排位成績
(1'39.402)慢0.5秒。
Fastest rider today was Spaniard Dani Pedrosa, who posted a
best of 1.39.993 using a Michelin qualifier, which was 0.5s
slower than he managed when setting pole in his home race
earlier this year.
羅西使用比賽胎的最好成績為第25圈的1分40.883秒,雖然它只使用了
1.41圈,用來調整步伐。
Rossi’s best time on race tyres today saw him clock a 1.40.883
on his 25th lap, though it was the only sub 1.41 lap he managed
in race trim.
這仍比他昨天第一次使用Bridgestone胎還要減掉0.3秒,雖然他今天仍
繼續使用日本工廠的07年特別版輪胎。
That was 0.3s slower than his best lap set on his first ride on
Bridgestone’s yesterday, though he continued to ride on the
Japanese factory’s 2007 spec rubber today.

Rossi will begin evaluating some of the latest generation spec
Bridgestone tyres tomorrow and he told MCN:

“Today was not so bad.
We worked more on consistency and tried to make a longer run
and I think already we have good consistency, but we need a
little bit more performance.

也會在三十圈裡使用用過的輪胎。
但我認為我有可能跑的更快。
Bridgestone 帶來了相當軟質的輪胎,因為他們預期溫度會較冷,

I am consistent more or less at the same lap time of the race,
also for 30 laps with a used tyre.
But I think it is possible to go faster.
Bridgestone brought quite soft rubber because they expected
colder conditions, but for me they are a little bit too soft.
I think with something harder we can improve by two or three
tenths a lap.

But I’m happy because I ride well and I have fun.

Tomorrow we start to try something new.
We started to work using just 2007 tyres.
But we are ready to start the development.”
Rossi 說他將期待明天嘗試一些新輪胎,將會有較強硬的風格更適合他,
但是他說 Bridgestone 改善它的軟質排位賽輪胎。
Rossi said he expected some of the new tyres he will debut
tomorrow will have a stronger construction to suit his style
more, but he said Bridgestone needed to improve its soft
qualifying tyre.
我嘗試過排位賽胎(普利司通)了,但是我認為 Michelin 比較好一點。
“I tried qualifying tyres because I think Michelin is a
little bit better.
(這段是說B牌排位胎)

I had a good feeling with the qualifying tyre and its possible
to go a little bit faster because I rode safely because I don’t
know exactly the limit of the tyre.

28歲的羅西將繼續受制於今年最後一站Valencia排位賽裡受傷右手的影
響進行測試。
We have to improve a little bit because Michelin was fantastic
on qualifying, but anyway the feeling is not bad, “added the
28-year-old, who continued to be hampered by the broken right
hand he suffered in a qualifying crash earlier this month at
the season’s final race in Valencia.
今天(右手)的情形或多或少和昨天一樣。我昨天受影響很多,但是當它(右手)
變熱時(熱血起來?),情況逐漸好轉。
今天不像昨天那麼糟,這算是有正面意義的。
He added: “It is more or less the same as yesterday.
I suffered a lot yesterday but when it gets hotter it gets better.
It is not worse than yesterday and this is positive.
我雖然無法發揮出極限,有時候會有困難去收放煞車,並同時催轉油門。
有時候我必須放開煞車後,才催轉油門。”
I am not at the maximum though and sometimes it is difficult to
release the brake and open the throttle in the same movement.
Sometimes I have to release the brake and then open the throttle.”
明天將是2007賽道測試的最後一天,之後12月1號開始,會有一個長達
七星期的測試禁令間隔。
而 2008 的開始測試將在 1 月 22 日在馬來西亞舉行,在哪裡,羅西預計
將第一次騎上新的08年工廠賽車 YZR-M1。
Tomorrow is the last day of track action in 2007, with the seven-
week testing ban starting on December 1.
Preparations for 2008 begin on January 22 in Malaysia, where
Rossi is scheduled to ride the new factory YZR-M1 for the first time.
